What we like
- Very approachable price
- Quiet enough for a bedroom
- Calibrates everything itself
What we don’t
- Small 18 cm bed
- Not suited to ABS
Verdict
The A1 mini is the best entry printer today, as long as your parts fit within 18 cm.
Design
The L-shaped frame has a small footprint and fits on a desk. The hotend comes off with one hand and nozzle swaps need no tools.
Experience
Auto levelling and vibration compensation mean the very first print looks good. It is quiet enough to run overnight.
Should you buy it?
If you have never owned a 3D printer, this is the most sensible place to start.
