How we score products
Every product is scored on four criteria with published weights.
Four criteria, one formula
Each criterion is scored from 0 to 10. The overall score is a weighted average, rounded to one decimal place.
| Criterion | 3D printers | DIY and tools | Home appliances | Weight |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Performance | Print speed | Power and speed | Performance | 35% |
| Quality | Print quality | Build and durability | Build quality | 25% |
| Ease of use | Setup and ease of use | Handling | Ease of use and cleaning | 20% |
| Value | Value | Value | Value | 20% |
Reading the score ruler
The ruler has a major tick at every point and a minor tick at every half point. The orange fill is the score. Above 9 is excellent, 8 to 9 is very good, 7 to 8 is decent with clear drawbacks.
When scores change
Value scores are revisited when prices move significantly. When a new version ships, we update the old review and show the update date at the top.
